“America’s most astonishing choir” (The New York Times), the Grammy Award-winning vocal ensemble The Crossing is at the vanguard of new choral music. Inspired by the writings of 19th – century pioneer women, Nico Muhly’s How Little You Are is a paean to the precarious, unfamiliar, and surprisingly beautiful frontier life. The lyrical strains of Muhly’s score, masterfully performed by Dublin Guitar Quartet, embody vibrant natural imagery and the often lonely journey of the soul, at once temporal and transcendent. Works by Carolyn Shaw, Ayanna Woods, Phillip Glass, and Bryce Dessner are also featured.
