Screenwriter and fiction writer Mark Poirier has written several original screenplays for feature films including  “Smart People,” starring Dennis Quaid, Ellen Page, Thomas Haden Church, and Sarah Jessica Parker, “Goats,” adapted from his novel, starring David Duchovny and Vera Farmiga, and, “Hateship Loveship”, starring Kristen Wiig. He has written scripts for studios such as DreamWorks, Paramount, Universal, and Warner Brothers and currently has several films in pre-production, including “Buzz,” which he co-wrote with Owen King and he will direct. He previously taught screenwriting at Harvard University and now works at Anonymous Content. Mark’s discussion will include adaptation, getting scripts produced, and his new industry position of choosing content for film.
