Composer and guitarist Randall Kohl is professor of music at the Universidad Veracruzana, Mexico, and a member of Mexico’s Sistema Nacional de Investigadores (National System of Researchers). A specialist on the classical and folk music traditions of Mexico, Hawai’i, the continental United States, Europe, and Asia, he has recorded the music of Octaviano Yáñez and published an anthology of Yáñez’s music, which he will perform at the Williams Center on October 21 at 7 p.m. Learn about the Yáñez and the culture of Mexico’s “Belle Époque” at this lunchtime lecture.

Admission is free and open to the public; lunch will be provided on a first-come, first-served basis.
