“Process Genre” Screening & Discussion, featuring Daniel Eisenberg’s The Unstable Object
Please join the Film and Media Studies Program and the Art Department for an evening screening of “Process Genre” films. The “Process Genre” is characterized by its representation of chronologically ordered steps in which some form of labor results in a finished product. These works are ubiquitous in popular media and are at the center of Prof. Salomé Skvirsky’s new book, The Process Genre: Cinema and the Aesthetic of Labor (Duke UP, 2020). In anticipation of Prof. Skvirksy’s talk on March 12, we will screen a series of shorts along with Daniel Eisenberg’s The Unstable Object (2011). Prof Katherine Groo (FAMS) will host the screening and discussion.
Free for all! No tickets required—see you on Zoom.
Presented by the Lafayette College Film and Media Studies Program and Art Department.
