The Arts at Lafayette is hosting an arts-packed week from Sept. 28 through Oct. 5, 2024, around campus. There will be a reading by award-winning novelist Susan Choi, jazz at Williams Center for the Arts, Lafayette musicians playing in Porchfest, faculty performances, plus a show by three-time Grammy nominee saxophonist Lakecia Benjamin.

Join us at the Williams Arts Campus on North Third Street for our kick-off events.

Join in the festivities at the annual College Hill Porchfest. This year will mark the first time we program our very own “porch” on campus!

MONDAY | SEPT 30TH - CLOSS READING and VR NIGHT

Start your week off right! Join us for a reading with author, Susan Choi in the afternoon and a VR night in the early evening!

TUESDAY | OCT 1ST - DANCE WORKSHOP

In this interactive discussion, Sahana Hassan Balasubramanya and Nandini Sikand will showcase two Indian classical dance styles of bharatanatyam and odissi. Learn a brief history and what makes each dance form unique.

WEDNESDAY | OCT 2ND - CREATIVE WRITING READINGS

Join our creative writing faculties and guest writers for a reading session in the Williams Center for the Arts.

THURSDAY | OCT 3RD - GUEST CURATORS AND STUDENT FILMS

Enjoy a talk with our guest curator at Williams Center for the Arts or join Film and Media Studies on Arts Campus for a screening of Student Films.

FRIDAY | OCT 4TH - PERFORMANCE SERIES at THE WILLIAMS CENTER FOR THE ARTS

Get your tickets for 3x GRAMMY®-nominated New York-based saxophonist, Lakecia Benjamin. She has an inimitable skill of fusing traditional conceptions of jazz, hip-hop, and soul and has shared stages with several legendary artists, including Stevie Wonder, Alicia Keys, and The Roots.
